The Sacraments

Marriage

Two lives joined before God, at the heart of the Church.

In the Sacrament of Marriage, a man and a woman give themselves to one another for life, and God binds their love into something holy and lasting. It is a joy for our parish to walk with couples as they prepare for this day — and for the years that follow. Whether you have worshipped here for years or are just beginning to find your way back to the Church, we would be honored to help you marry at Our Lady of Mercy.

How to begin

The Diocese of Helena asks couples to contact the parish at least six months before the desired wedding date. This gives time for the marriage preparation the Church provides — a period of prayer, conversation, and formation that helps couples build their marriage on a firm foundation. The first step is simply to reach out to the parish office; Fr. Neneman will meet with you to begin.

1
Contact the parish
Reach out to the office at least six months ahead. We’ll set a time to meet with the priest.
2
Marriage preparation
Together you’ll take part in the preparation the Church offers — meetings, reflection, and formation for married life.
3
Set the date & celebrate
With preparation underway, we’ll confirm the date and plan the liturgy of your wedding Mass.

Good to know

If one of you is not Catholic

If you were married before
Please mention this early. In some situations the Church can help through the annulment process — the priest will walk with you.
Coming from out of town?
Couples with ties to the Tobacco Valley are welcome to marry here. Let us know your situation and we’ll help make it work.
Beginning your journey together?
We would be glad to hear from you. Reach out and we’ll take the first step together.
